Buckeye-19, Claddagh-177

No, we're not keeping score ... that would be POUNDS.

Curiosity

I figured it was only a matter of time until she found the dogs' dishes. Thankfully, this time, they were empty. Almost looks like she's taunting him with it...
She couldn't leave the second one sit there untouched...
...and hey! They roll!
Buckeye sort of walked around Mallory as though he didn't necessarily approve of what she was doing, but also seemed to realize he didn't have much of a choice in the matter. I have a feeling he'll learn that a lot more in the coming years...

Daddy's Home

Before bed...

I prefer to sit in the tub, thank you very much.
I really don't know how to explain this...
...or this...
Will I make it to my 1st birthday without a haircut?
(um, yes...no worries on that!)
Hmm, what's this thing do?
I think I will eat it.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

My mom celebrated a birthday today. I'm not sure how old she is here, but I wish I could call my grandparents to ask if they remember this picture or what my mom was like at this age. Sweet? Sassy? Bossy big sister? Mommy's helper? Daddy's girl? Smarty pants? Teacher's pet? There's really no limit on the amount of adjectives that can describe a little kid, right? So my guess is she was all of the above and probably lots more. She was cute, that's for sure!

Love you, Mom!
Happy Birthday!

Is it even possible that she's THIS cute?
Seriously.

Look Out, World!

At Grandma's this weekend...

Last night...what a better way to bait a chatty girl than with a cell phone!

So proud of herself!

01.25.09

This picture was on my mom's camera when I downloaded the pictures from the weekend.

This wasn't even 4 months ago. How is it that I've already forgotten how cute and baby-ish her face was??

Stay little, Mallory. No, grow up faster. Start to crawl. No, don't move. Stay in one place.

Ah, the blessing and curse of motherhood.

Weekend Highlights

Well, the weekend was a hit. Casey and I had a great time camping - not too much rain and just the right amount of cold weather to help us appreciate the camp fire!! Though we don't have any photos from our "up nort" adventure, here are some of the things Mallory did at my mom's while we were away.
A few of my aunts and uncles stopped by for a visit on Saturday night. Here is Mallory with my Uncle Wayne. You can really only appreciate this if you KNOW my uncle, but I assure you there is nothing but love and humor behind this shot. (no pun intended!)
Here's the proof that he turned down Mallory's request for Kessler in trade for a bottle.
We missed our girl over the weekend, but we knew she'd have lots of fun at Grandma and Grandpa's. And besides, she wouldn't have loved sleeping in a 24 degree tent as much as we did!

To Grandma's House She Goes

Mallory is SO excited for her first overnight stay at Grandma's house. Casey and I are going camping with some friends for the weekend, so she'll be staying at my mom's.

Here she is trying to escape - she didn't know I was taking this video since her bedroom door was only open a crack (though I swear she looked right at the camera toward the end).

Good to know she's a tough girl ... she didn't even cry when she hit bonked her forehead on the crib rail. (and yes, you can hear Casey and I giggle - she was fine!)

Go Brewers!

Check out this post on "the hammen times" to see Ember's new jacket - talk about authentic vintage apparel!! It wins my vote!

Breathing

Being able to breathe while sleeping would be considered overrated by some.

Naughty Exersaucer

It started out innocently enough...
Daddy to the rescue.

You're cramping my style, Scheduled Outage.

Power Tools

I have to say ... I enjoy working in the yard.
.
I especially enjoy the times when Casey and I can be outside
working in the yard together.
.
Even more than that I love working in the yard with
POWER TOOLS!Edging the lawn = not so fun.
Edging with a gas-powered edger = SUPER fun!
.
Casey mowed and let me play with our new toy!
(Who knew that the grass had grown 4-6 inches over our sidewalk?)

I'm 8 Months Old!

Mallory sat up on her own for the first time yesterday. I took this video this morning and it's already old news. I laid her down for a nap and she immediately sat up and grabbed the mobile.

We'll be saying "bye bye" to the mobile and lowering the crib mattress again today.

Outdoor Fun

Mallory spent the day with Penny and Alex on Thursday while I was "PartyLite-ing". It was a gorgeous day, so much outdoor fun was had. Some kind of mother I am ... I dressed her in pants and a long-sleeved shirt WITH a onesie underneath it. Notice the long-sleeved shirt didn't last long. Penny laughed at me when I came to pick up Mallory. I guess there's something to be said for watching the weather channel! Oops.

...fun with bubbles...
...Brewers' Fan...
...good friends...

Father's Day Weekend - 2005

I promised you a blast from the past, so here it is. We stayed at Sean and Megan's house in Florence, KY, y'all, over Father's Day weekend. This was pre-Cole and Finley ... well, even though none of us knew it at the time, Megan was pregnant with Finley. And this was two weeks before Casey and my wedding. Seems like so long ago ...

So, we went to the zoo ...

I'm not afraid of you, shark...
especially not through 12 inches of glass.

...these two were definitely too busy for the camera...
(and still are most of the time)
Here's Kane feeling a starfish ... something I'm confident you couldn't get him to do today if you paid him a million dollars.
And, we went to the Great American Ball Park to see
the Braves vs. the Reds.
...two months post-Iraq -- life couldn't have been better...
Braden loves Momma
...like father, like son...
...Braden and Aunt Shannon sharing hats...
Shannon and Steve
...the day before their 7 year anniversary...
This photo cracked me up ... Kane with his "super rope" licorice ... it's funny since now COLE eats a "super rope" in the form of nasty, slimy, stinky beef jerky from any gas station. So different those two. Funny stuff.
...and I thought I'd throw in one more for good measure.
I enjoyed this blast from the past.
Did you?
Hmm, I may just have to dig
through some more photo archives!
