Fun with Aubrey

Another visit with friends proved to be LOTS of fun. It's neat to watch Aubrey and Mallory interact instead of just staring at each other as they did in the earlier months.

Both girls turned to their dads who were trying to get them to look at the camera.
This would be Aubrey guarding her pacifier ... with good reason.
Oh boy ... and she looks so innocent ... (she takes Ember's pacifier too!)

We hooked Aubrey up with some pigtails!
All good parties go downhill toward the end ... dancing around without pants on!

9 Month Well Visit

Mallory had her 9 month checkup last Tuesday
(16 lbs, 26.5 inches on March 13th)
18lbs 11oz
28.25 in long
Thanks to Aunt Mo, Mallory sports a headband quite frequently ... keeps the hair out of her eyes!

Strawberries are READY!

Our strawberry patch is ready for picking! Okay, er...so what you see is what was available for picking. But a new handful ripens nearly every day now. Just enough for an afternoon snack!

Family Fun Land

***Attention Kane and Miller Families***
This post is kid friendly. Your next trip to WI will include a visit to Family Fun Land - Guaranteed!

My sister-in-law's family is in town for a long weekend and yesterday we experienced this gem of an establishment! It's been open since December and now that we've been there, I imagine we'll be frequent customers.

Mallory and I joined Jill and Ember, Jill's Aunt Annie (seen here) with Nicholas and Abby, her mom and her Grandma for a little adventure.
*************
Mallory is a bit fascinated with Ember (this was taken before she literally pushed Ember over with one finger - what a bully!!)
Hello Skee Ball... (this place calls it Ice Ball??)
No, Momma, I'll show you how to get tickets.
Jill's cousin, Nicholas thought he'd help...
Jill's cousins, Nicholas (2), Abby (4), and of course, Mallory
Okay, not only is there an incredibly large (and clean!!) arcade, this place has things for big kids and little kids (below). Not pictured is another huge bounce castle. It's just $4/kid for the structures as long as you want to play. The arcade, of course, is token city. Adults are free and are allowed to chase after the kiddos as necessary. Also not pictured is a large cafeteria with typical yumm-o foods: pizza, corn dogs, cheese nuggets (we are in WI), soft pretzels w/cheese (my snack of choice), ice cream, etc.
Abby loves babies!

What a great day!!

***this is not a paid advertisement for Family Fun Land, just couldn't resist sharing!***

Feeding Claddagh

For those of you who wonder (people are always asking) how the dogs get along with Mallory or vice versa...

I love that Mallory managed to use her opposite hand to feed herself.

Oh, I should probably mention, this may have been Mallory's attempt to share with Claddagh since Claddagh unknowingly shared with Mallory recently. Yes, Mallory ate a piece of dog food yesterday. The verdict is out on whether she enjoyed it; her opinion was skewed by the fact that Casey had his hand in her mouth to get it out faster than she got it in. (And just an fyi ... despite the pictures and video, we are teaching her that the dogs' dishes are off limits...)

I'm 9 Months Old!

Two things:
1. She's headed for the fridge - loves food just like her momma.
2. You can see her (top) two front teeth!!

*Finley's pants, Mo

Hi Momma!

This is what I see when I look down at my feet these days.

Finger Food

Mallory loves bananas. She's gotten pretty good at getting them in her mouth, but this one gave her some trouble! (it was really stuck on there too ... I had time to change my camera battery before it fell off)

P.S.

Mallory made a new friend in Illinois.
So great to meet you, Mrs. Willy!

The Art of Discovery

Admit it, you saw it coming. I certainly did. And it's a good thing I'm not weird about germs or I'd have a serious problem on my hands.
.
She even looked at me for approval. Suuuuure Mallory, stick your cute little hand in the slobbery, slimy, just plain NAS-TEE dog water bowl (...and then let's promptly wash your hands, that is disgusting, however funny it might be.)
Her hands are washed, but minutes later she was at it again.
"Whatcha eatin' Claddagh?"
"Can I have some?"
She really did grab a handful of food, but no, don't worry, none of it went in her mouth (though not for lack of trying...) Claddagh was completely unaffected by Mallory and had no problem finishing her dinner.
This was the look I got when I told her we needed to let Claddagh eat. Not the last time I'll see that face, I know that...

Buddies

And for my next trick...

...I shall stand and walk along the furniture!

Yummy!!

Good call on the NutraGrain bar, Aunt Mo!
(she ate the entire thing!!!)
