Patiently waiting...

Abigail (along with the rest of us) is patiently and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Hammen!

Yesterday was ultrasound day - my favorite!

The baby looked great - I could watch for hours! All the wiggling and squirming ... so many movements I don't feel yet and lots that I do. All that kicking and moving inside is one of my favorite parts about being pregnant (I know I'm not alone on this). If my pregnancy with Mallory is any indication, Casey should be able to feel this baby kicking by the end of March or shortly after that!

So ... yes ... she'll be our second girl! I couldn't decide if we'd have a cute little "Casey" running around here or another spunky girl ... we're so excited for Mallory to have a baby sister!

I thought it'd be fun to compare. Here's a shot of Mallory at 24 weeks (4 weeks ahead of where I am now). We were trying to guess if the new baby will have as much hair as Mallory did when she's born ... it seems impossible!
It's hard to believe that we're half way there! Though I do think the second half is the hardest. So ... the weeks ahead hold many more kicks, lots of night waking to pee, ha, apparently snoring (GASP - ask Casey about last night...) and of course, enjoyment. Here's to trying to appreciate the calm before the storm of having a second babe to chase around.

Sarah's Baby Shower

Approximately 73% of the women I know are currently pregnant. (That's only a slight exaggeration ... there is something in the water.)

So ... here are a few pictures from my friend Sarah's baby shower.

Cute and Cuter

Mallory and I spent the afternoon with my aunt Sherry and my (so stinkin' cute pregnant) cousin Jackie. I'm not kidding. Is this not the cutest picture you've ever seen??? I'm not sure who is cuter...Mallory or Jackie with her adorable baby belly. I can't lie...I miss that baby bump.Last week when I propped Mallory up on her knees they slid right out from underneath her. Yesterday she was very excited that she could "rock" back and forth...lookout world...

A New Little Pumpkin is on the Way

This Saturday my mom and I had a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Jill (brother's wife) and baby girl Ember. Jill is 8 months pregnant - due November 28th. The shower was at my house in the garage. Thankfully it turned out to be a gorgeous fall day! I LOVE FALL!

Fun game prizes, a pumpkin pull apart cake and yes, folks, that is a diaper pumpkin.

The menu consisted of a yummy chicken pot pie in a biscuit 'cup', a pumpkin cheese ball that looked so professional the picture belonged in Better Homes and Gardens (hehe), veggies and dip, HOT APPLE CIDER and a few other delicious dishes.

We borrowed some corn stalks as well as some straw bales to spice things up a bit. Here's Jill with all of her lovely gifts.

These are some of the goodies I got for Jill. The embroidered burp cloths and blanket were a collaborative gift. My sister-in-law, Megan has an embroidery machine, so I asked her to personalize a few things for me. Thanks Megan, they were a hit - she LOVED them!!

My grandpa's birthday was on Saturday

so we gathered to celebrate another great year.
