March Easter Egg Hunt

Toward the end of March we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at a friend's church. The kids were in groups by age, so Casey walked ran around with Mallory and I followed Abby around while she figured out what this Easter egg thing was really about.

Somebody had a birthday...

That's right, I turned the big two-nine. Okay, so it's not really big, but it did happen and after a memory card recovery operation, we have pictures to prove it! Love is when you giggle (or snort) after your husband writes "H B-day" on your cake with chocolate syrup because he didn't know Dairy Queen would have done it for free (while he waited).

I needed help with all TEN candles that topped my cake. A good one of me and Mal ... and Claddagh.

As far as family photos go ... this made my day. :)

It was a great day from start to finish ... two-year-old meltdowns and rainy weather included.

Father's Day (two weeks late!)

On Father's Day every year as long as I can remember there has been a standing invitation to spend the day on Big Cedar Lake. My Uncle Mark and Aunt Sue live nearby and have always "hosted" our family for a day of relaxation and fun ... including, but not limited to: boat rides, paddle boating, swimming (in bathing suits or fully dressed), food, volleyball, yard games, family, tree climbing (a first this year), conversation, and more food.

This year the talk of the day was the fact that the grandbabies (my grandpa's grandkids - Kevin and I) have babies ... Mallory and Ember. Such is life, such a beautiful thing.

Hi Momma!

This is what I see when I look down at my feet these days.

Just keep swimming...

Yesterday was the last day of Mallory's swim "class". After a few songs and games the instructor let us do our own thing.

Santa duck was Mallory's favorite ... every week the instructor let the kids pick from a basket-o-ducks and other floaty animals ... and every week she picked the same duck.

Even with her favorite duck on board floating on her back was not her favorite thing.

Mallory is here with Addison, the daughter (5-6 weeks younger) of a high school friend of mine.

Her first diploma! Okay, so maybe just a certificate. Still cute.
