Apple Holler
We met our friends at Apple Holler in mid-September. It was a great early fall day and worth the short drive we took to get there!
Feeding the goats is always a safe start.
Posing with the pumpkins
Here's our friend, Ainsley
(it just so happens she is 8 days younger than Abby)
Paul Bunyan's Chair = family photo op!
Good job, Daddy.

I knew Mallory was snacking on the apples,
but I didn't realize she nibbling on ALL of them.
Momma Mallory sharing her apple with "Ains-wee".
"Take a bite, Ains-wee. Ohhh, is that good? Oh, want more - here you go, take another bite."

More Fall Fun
We partially carved some pumpkins over the weekend. We saved the seeds and ending up quitting early for dinner. It was fun to let the girls dig into the pumpkin guts though.
Ember was all about it, but Mallory wanted her hand wiped off after each time she stuck her hand in.
She resorted to picking up the little pumpkin and trying to dump it into the bowl. I thought it was pretty resourceful. She's not really missing out on much skipping the pumpkin goop.
Ember and Mallory kept reaching in the trick or treat candy bowl to see how many times we'd give in. One of them picked up a "Warhead" sour/sweet nasty candy and we couldn't resist seeing their reaction. Ember went first ... she made quite the face and immediately spit it out.
Mallory took it a step further and was actually wiping her tongue with the back of her hand. Yes, we are horrible parents.

Tanner's Orchard 2010
Another fall season ... another trip to Tanner's. Us and everyone else, that is. It was crazy packed at the orchard, but we survived. See pictures from last year's trip here.
Thank goodness the goats are always anxious to be fed ... Casey told Mallory we were going to feed goats (among other things) and all week she was saying, "Momma, feed the goats?"

This was as close as she would get to the ponies... but boy she sure acted interested.
Can you tell they were ready to leave? After looking at last year's trip, I think the lesson to be learned here is that we should take this picture when we arrive... eh well, this makes for a better story anyway.
I had a run in with a llama last year. Maybe this one in particular wasn't to blame, but I got sneezed on last year and I'm still scarred from it. Yuck.
