Mallory's 2nd Birthday Party

As soon as Mallory woke up on her birthday she found her gifts from Casey and I, so we (I) let her open one of them as a pre-party treat.
She looks so GROWN UP in the picture!
Hmm, it's a CAR! What could that be?
Well, that's funny...
the butterfly wasn't missing frosting when I set the table.
Birthday girl's little sister seemed bored by the festivities all day.
This went on for a good 5 minutes.
I'm not sure what's up with the flash in this picture,
but she loved the chair.
Uncle Kevin gets Mallory a personalized gift for every occasion so for her birthday she got her very own "Mallerina the Ballerina" placemat.
"Dude. This is boring. When do we get cake?"
Mallory received an "antique" set of pots and pans from my Auntie Karen. Her favorite is the teapot.
Like I said. Bored. :)
A Dora tricycle from Grandpa and Grandma ...
Oh yes, and a $5 bubble blower from Daddy.
We had to break out "Elefun" for the girls to enjoy.
Sometimes it's just easier to pick them up and put them in your net. It's called problem solving, haha.
Or you can wear the net on your head.
And walk around that way.
Ah yes. The birthday song.
Mallory is quite the ham...
...so after she blew out the candle...
...we had to sing again.
And she made sure to put down her cupcake to clap. Love it.
This guy was bored too, I guess.
After licking the frosting off her cupcake, she pointed at a piece of cake.
So I obliged.
You only turn 2 once, right?
It was a fun day and I don't really think Mallory knew what hit her, but she sure enjoyed all the attention. Abby enjoyed the attention too, and then she enjoyed chilling in her pjs after the festivities wrapped up.
Happy 2nd Birthday, Mal!

i heart daddy

There's just something about her daddy that can make a little girl smile.

Good stuff over Labor Day weekend

We went to Illinois over Labor Day weekend and while we were there Mallory got her first 2nd birthday party. Got that? Thanks to Aunt Mo, Uncle Sean, Meme and Granddad.
It is a good day when a girl gets a cupcake AND ice cream.
Looks like she found her "couch" from Meme and Granddad.
And she's a fan!
Among other things, she received Elefun...
...and boy was it fun!
Play.
Pick up.
Repeat.
If you need a gift for the 2-year-old in your life
(or a 4-year-old or 7-year-old, ha)
...it's worth every penny.
OH! And don't think I forgot...
We also got to meet this little guy.
Our FIFTH nephew. Kellan John.
He was only 5 or so days old in this picture,
but he's actually 4 weeks old TODAY. Wow.
I need to get an updated picture (or twenty-five) as I'm sure he has changed plenty...

What a weekend.
Lots of good stuff.
