Winter.

Oh Buckeye.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I'm tired of winter too.

A Walk

Thanks to Sunday's storm, we're covered in over a foot of snow again, but laaaaast week, we had temps in the 40s and we were only navigating puddles because sidewalks were mostly clear. A walk was in order.
Thankfully, the snow won't last forever so we'll have PLENTY of time for more walks double stroller activity.

Suzy Seamstress

I made a window valance for Mallory's room over the weekend. I'm about 98% certain I haven't used a sewing machine since Mrs. Webb's 7th Grade Home Economics class. I made a monkey pillow. Which, oddly enough, I happened to find the other day. (Who keeps this stuff?) I know I was required to follow a pattern, but my memory did me a disservice ... I remember it being much cuter. Eh, 7th grade, I was, what? 12 years old.
Anyway, I found fabric and a pattern from Wal-mart and borrowed my sister-in-law's sewing machine to attempt the valance. I was nervous, but I'm pleased with the result especially considering I did the majority during the girls' 3-hour nap on Friday and the fact that it's been ages since I've used a machine.
The good news ... fabrics, embellishments (buttons, ribbon), rod and pattern were under $30.
The bad news (depending on who you ask) ... I've put in a request for a sewing machine for my upcoming birthday. Cross your fingers! :)

More snow...

When life gives you (more) snow ... climb snow mountains...
From across the yard Mallory would yell, "Daddy, oh no, save me!" and then run, run, run until he scooped her up in his arms. And once surely wasn't enough...
And let's not forget about our smiley little bystander with the best (and warmest) seat in the house.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's 8 inches and rising since 10am today...

Random Day

I just thought it was interesting that these pictures were all taken on the same day...

These headbands are cute, right? Upon further review I think they look cuter on babies with little to no hair.
Now THIS is a look. Thanks to her older sister. I came into the toy room to see the headband traded out for some antlers.
Abigail was being a whiny pants during dinner so we gave her a "freezer pop" (unopened) to gnaw on. She managed to turn the entire thing to liquid.
And she's back! Smiley baby!

Braden's 8th Birthday/Weekend in IL

We traveled to Illinois for Braden's birthday party this weekend. I can't believe he's already 8 years old! He requested an "army party" and guests dressed in camo. We had a blast bowling. It was Mallory's first time and she was fascinated.
Sean and Finley
Little Miss Diva
Kane has quite the follow through stance and he could really whip it down the lane!
It's not a trip to the bowling alley without a ball getting stranded...
Hugs for momma, even though apparently we only knocked down ONE pin.
Meme and Mallory
Colie - also a strong bowler!
The kids had bumpers, but either way they all managed strikes and spares...
Some of us napped...
Sean and Braden
Happy Birthday, Braden!
Mallory with Uncle Stevie
Yes, that's our "major cutie"
I thought this was cute with all the camo
(and a good shot of the Kane's newly remodeled kitchen)

Happy Tuesday!

Valentine's Day - Part 2

Cookies were promised after dinner.
She did really well until she got some frosting on her finger. She tried to wipe it on the table and ... silly me ... I told her to lick it off. It was all downhill from there.
A very steep hill.
These are her only cookies that received frosting.
The rest went in her mouth.
She enjoyed "dipping" the cookies in sprinkles,
but then decided to eat those too.
She said good night to Daddy while hugging her new talking Valentine's Day bear.
At one point she squeezed it and the bear said, "Are you a bear too?"
She said, "No, I'm Mallory."
Silly bear. What were you thinking?
Happy Heart Day!
