Patiently waiting...

Abigail (along with the rest of us) is patiently and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Hammen!
Baby is due August 3rd.
Boy or Girl?? We can't to find out!
Here's to a safe and healthy arrival - SOON!

Dinner Time

Hanging out in the kitchen while Mommy makes dinner:

GOOFY face - cracks me up!
"Momma! Crack-ER?"

Sister Snuggles

"Baby Abby. Hohd? Tiss?"
"Abby! Wook!"

Little Houdini

Little miss was not happy ... we found her after she had worked her arm out of her sleeve and out the neck hole of her gown.

Quite the contortionist!

Entertainment

Last week I walked into the toy room to find this:
Mallory had moved her crayons and paper from her table to the floor and was having quite the one-sided conversation. Such a good girl.

Never

It's never too early to accessorize...

...and babies can never have too many kisses.

Big sister

We sensed a bit of uncertainty in Mallory during the first day or two of having Abigail with us at home (to be expected), but ... when no one was looking even she couldn't deny that she loved the little bug. On one occasion Abigail let out the tiniest little squeak and Mallory went running down the hall to make sure she was alright. I snuck up behind her and heard, "Beeby. Beeby. What doin?"

Abigail Fay

Wednesday, July 7th ... the day unfolded in a seemingly perfect stream of events and at 5:09pm Abigail Fay was here!
"Hi beeby."
Grandma Lynn asking Ember to give Abigail kisses Ember very excited about her "Big Sister" sticker, ha.
She's just practicing since she will be a big sister very SOON.
... and then there were FOUR!
... very proud daddy ... ... uncle kevin ... ... grandpa hammen ...
... after her first bath soaking up the rays ...
... Abigail with her meme ...
... grandad ...
... silly big sister ...
... auntie jill ...
... kisses from cousin ember ...
... summer and aubrey ...
Mallory was adamant about Abby having a cracker ...
... and becomes very concerned when she cries.
... waiting to go home ...
Mallory is adjusting well to having a baby sister and only sometimes seems unsure of the new little life at our house. Mostly she's very helpful and likes to make sure Abby has a blanket and a snack or a toy at all times. We're only expecting life to grow more exciting as the days and weeks go on!

Also thank you to everyone who has called or stopped by with well wishes! We're so blessed to have two beautiful girls and have had a surprisingly restful weekend!

Father's Day

Ok, here is a belated Father's Day post ... funny thing, I posted our pictures from Father's Day two weeks late last year too.

Anyway, first we made Daddy a homemade blueberry pie - super easy, super yummy.
There may have been a liiiiiiittle more sugar added than necessary, but that's why we used a small spoon.
Then we played outside and picked some flowers from the field behind our house.
"da-ee. huck?"
"da-ee. tiss?"
"da-ee. fwowers?"
After a nap (it might have been a family nap day...) we went to my dad's to grill out and have some more outdoor fun.
aww sharing!
and more sharing. just gross.
